TU-CENTER will take part in the Annual Biocontrol Industry Meeting (ABIM) in Basel, Switzerland, on October 24-26.
Representatives from the field of biocontrol will take part in the event: 1400 delegates from 49 countries of the world. 52 speakers will give speeches during three days. The program includes 6 sessions, training seminars, a product exhibition, a poster session, a meeting of the IBMA professional group, networking and an award ceremony (Bernard Blum Prize). Among the participants are such global brands as Syngenta, BASF, Certis Biologicals, IDAI Nature, Biogard Biologicals, Valent Biosciences.
BTU-CENTER will present Ukraine at the ABIM conference. Since 2017, this is the sixth participation of the Ukrainian manufacturer of biologicals, but for the first time the company was invited to share its experience with the global community of the biological technologies industry. On October 25, during the first session «Innovations for IPM and biocontrol», Dmytro Yakovenko, Head of International Department at BTU-CENTER, will give a speech on the topic «Microbial polysaccharides to improve uptake of biocontrol and not only».
The speech will be dedicated to Liposam, a complex biological adhesive agent that prevents the dripping of pesticides, fertilizers and stimulants from the leaf's surface, enhances plant resistance to stress factors and prevents soil herbicides from leaching. The uniqueness of biopreparation is enabled by the specific spatial configuration of biopolymers macromolecules, which forms a net-like cover on the leaf's surface that softly covers the plants and pods without hampering the growth, breathing and photosynthesis processes. Unlike synthetic adhesive agents, which break a wax layer of the leaf, Liposam acts gently, causing no harm to this natural shell, thanks to which the plants became less vulnerable to the diseases. Liposam is an environmentally pure product, so its use instead of synthetic analogues will contribute to the production of healthy foods. It is a multifunctional biological that functions as an adhesive, adjuvant, antitranspirant, sorbent-carrier, antidote, antistressant, soil conditioner and net-forming agent. It is compatible with all water-soluble fertilizers, plant protection products, growth regulators and biologicals and available with the most application methods.
Liposam has FIBL certification and is used in 12 countries of the world in accordance with all European standards. In December 2021, Liposam got approval by BVL as an adjuvant in Germany. R&D Head, PhD and co-founder of BTU-CENTER Bolohovska Valentyna and chief microbiologist Nahorna Olga have received the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology for the development of unique polymers that became the basis for the creation of Liposam.
