BTU-CENTER at Biostimulants World Congress 2023

The active development of the modern world market of biostimulants began in the 1990s with a rather modest size, but year after year it has been growing with the faster rates compared to other segments of the industry.

BTU-CENTER successfully presented its products at the Biostimulants World Congress 2023 in Milan, a one of the key events that annually gathers together the top players on the Biostimulants and Biocontrol market.

In the poster section, we shared the results of our field trials, conducted during the 2021-2023 growing seasons. Our focus was on the effects of treating maize plants with microbial biostimulants on drought stress tolerance and overall yield, as well as significant increases in productivity.

Our research focuses on the influence of biologicals on crucial aspects such as soil microbiome, biodiversity, carbon storage and enzyme activity. We can proudly inform, that Dmytro Yakovenko, Head of International Department, gave an exceptional presentation on the topic “Biologicals influence on the soil health indicators”, sharing our 25 year experience from the event stage

After the event, the following trends were recorded:

- This market is growing quicker than before. The Forecast +9.5% annual growth for biostimulants market until 2027 and +8.6% annual growth for biocontrol

- Active movements in business associations

- Rising product prices in 2022 due to raw material and energy prices

- High prices for fertilizers played in favor of the biostimulants market

- Now and in the coming years, microorganisms will be an important source of resources for reducing stress in crops

- Nematodes are still a major pest in many crops worldwide

- There is a huge demand for bionematicides in the market

- The importance of the soil microbiome is often raised

Vladyslav Bolokhovskyi, CEO of BTU-CENTER said:"We are pleased that the market is growing and developing. More and more farmers are paying attention to biological products and implementing biotechnologies in their farms. These are the first serious steps towards reducing the use of chemical pesticides and improving the soil. Our European colleagues have begun to pay more and more attention to the use of biologicals outdoors, where we already have more than 24 years of experience. After all, 4 million hectares are already cultivated with our biologicals".

Biostimulants World Congress is a fantastic platform for sharing experiences, engaging in scientific discussions and developing cooperation, talking about regulatory challenges and other important things. More than 50 meetings, attending sessions, panel discussions and great opportunities of knowledge exchange and collaboration.
