Biolgical adhesive LIPOSAM is registered in Germany by The Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL).

LIPOSAM is a unique biological adhesive agent that prevents the washing of nutrients, biostimulants and plant protection products from the surfaces and enhances plant resistance to stress factors. The biopreparation is an ecologically pure product based on a complex of natural exooligopolysaccharides with solid links between monosaccharides.

LIPOSAM forms a net-like cover in contrast to the solid film. This is enabled by the macromolecular structure of LIPOSAM fibres which are elastic and robust due to their dimensional structure. They softly cover the plants and pods without hampering the growth, breathing and photosynthesis processes.

Prevention of soil leaching of herbicides and increase of their useful efficiency

According to scientific research and field practice, the effectiveness of soil herbicides is closely related to the soil moisture level. When soil is dry, the preparation applied on its surface can lose its properties due to evaporation, weathering, or decomposing under ultraviolet light. In addition, insufficient moisture in soil often inactivates the active factor of the herbicide and does not provide the desired phytotoxic effect. Excessive moisture caused by heavy rains or uncontrolled watering also has negative effects because it causes destruction of the herbicide screen and undesirable washing out of the preparation in the area of the seedbed. This can cause negative effects for the seedlings of most crops, despite selectivity of the plants to the active factors of the recommended herbicides. A significant environmental threat, especially for reservoirs, is caused by washing off of the herbicides when applied on soil on the slopes, which are exposed to water erosion.

Bioahdesive LIPOSAM is one of the most effective solutions. Good lipogenic properties and presence of various functional groups of polysaccharides in the composition of Liposam provide a soft retention of the working solution on the soil surface and prevent washing out of the herbicide when added to the mixture with a soil herbicide. In addition, the effectiveness of the pesticide enhances under conditions optimal for weed germination when their seedlings appear within 3-5 days after the last soil treatment or sowing.

Unlike most surfactants, which reduce the surface tension of the working solution, the physical properties of LIPOSAM enable keeping the micro-moisture content in the area of the protective screen, providing active contact of moisture and the active factor of the herbicide, thereby preventing blocking its effect on weed seedlings. This is especially crucial in conditions of a long period of their germination, for example, due to cold weather.

When there is a high probability of heavy rains, application of the adhesive LIPOSAM is appropriate in tank mixtures with herbicides, especially those that are highly soluble in water, because they are prone to washing out and getting into the area where the seeds of the crop are located.

BTU-CENTER conducts numerous field and laboratory trials of the microbiological preparations effectiveness. The Institute of Applied Biotechnology scientists conducted laboratory trials of Liposams effect on the migration of substances in the upper soil layers of 0-50 cm.

The analogue preparation reduced the water-holding capacity of the soil by 13-18%, while LIPOSAM, on the contrary, increased it by 2-7% compared to the control.

The application of a typical analogue preparation and LIPOSAM on the surface of chernozem reduced the migration of organic, mineral and organo-mineral components beyond the 0-50 cm layer by 25-41% compared to the control.

Conclusion

LIPOSAM fixes herbicides in the upper soil layer and protects against leaching, stabilizes herbicide in dry conditions and reduces the chemical load on cultivated plants. 
As a soil conditioner, LIPOSAM absorbs excess salt, improves soil indicators and prevents erosion when it enters saline soil.

Efficiency of LIPOSAM application of seeds treatment and planting seedlings

LIPOSAM is applied in a pre-sowing seed treatment of sunflower, corn, rapeseed, soybean, vegetable crops as well as in processing of potato tubers and plant bulbs. It improves the homogeneity of seed coating with biological preparations, other plant protection agents and nutrition of seed, ensuring their close contact with the treated surface.

In case of insufficient moisture content in soil, the water-absorbing polymer membrane of LIPOSAM makes it possible to save seeds for a long time (up to 1 month), increases field germination, and promotes better formation of the root system.

When you apply LIPOSAM before planting seedlings, the roots of plants are treated with its solution, which contributes to retain moisture in the root system and protection from mechanical damage. Root feeding of plants with LIPOSAM solution also helps to retain moisture, which is very important in conditions of drought.

Example of application

A vegetable farm in Vasylivka, Vinnytsia region, Ukraine, have applied Liposam with the pre-planting treatment of cabbage seedlings by soaking the roots of seedlings in LIPOSAM solution.

As a result, the seedlings' survival was 100%.

Appliaction of LIPOSAM bioahdesive for spraying of plants in the growing season

Farmers applicate the bioadhesive LIPOSAM together with plants protection/nutrition preparations during the growing season for increase the effectiveness of next agronomical goals:

  • plant nutrition in mixtures with biopreparations, and also with macro- and micronutrients;
  • protection against bacterial and fungal diseases in mixtures with fungicides:
  • for protection of crops against weeds in mixture with herbicide.
  • to protect crops against pests in mixture with insecticide.

The effectiveness of LIPOSAM, at this stage primarily lies in the fact that the solution containing LIPOSAM reduces surface tension, better wets the surface of the plant, and thus increases the contact area of the active substances, reduces non-productive losses, and prevents washing of active substances from the surfaces.

The features of bio-adhesive, in contrast to some synthetic ones, do not slip off the leaves, but on the contrary, get a better hold on them. At the same time, exceeding bio-adhesive rates most often does not lead to phytotoxicity.

 

People's love for this preparation is provided by the unique spatial configuration of macromolecules of biopolymers, which forms a microscopic mesh on the leaf surface. The mesh gently covers the plant, retaining its moisture and not hindering the growth and development of the plant. LIPOSAM forms this mesh and fixes it on the plant in 15-30 minutes.

Due to the elastic biopolymer mesh, LIPOSAM:

  • Fixes PPP on the surface of the leaf and prevents them from dripping
